The route, west and quiet

The published itinerary is seven stops from a Fujikawaguchiko pickup. A ten-minute photo stop in town, then twenty minutes guided at the Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, the cedar-lined shrine on the eastern road that predates the Sengen shrine most tours visit. West along the lakes: ten minutes at Nenba-hama, the beach on Lake Saiko below the thatched village, fifteen at Lake Shoji, the smallest of the five with the mountain rising behind a lava shoreline. Then twenty minutes on a guided walk in the Aokigahara forest, the woodland that grew on the lava flow of the 864 eruption. The day closes in Fujiyoshida with thirty minutes for regional food, an extra fee, and thirty for the town.

The operator's own site describes the same day as hidden shrines, a mysterious forest and local restaurants off the tourist map, with the pace and the stops adjusted to the group. Reviewers in May and June 2026 describe a waterfall, caves and shrines added on the day.

Included, and what is not

Skip it if it is your first day at the lake

The route trades the famous views for quiet ones. On a first visit, Johnny's six hours covers Chureito, the Sengen shrine, Oshino Hakkai and Oishi for $481 with room for seven, and Forest Kraft's full day reaches both sides of the region for $128 a head.

Skip it if you are five, or coming from Tokyo

The car takes four. Pickup is limited to the Kawaguchiko and Fujiyoshida areas, and the operator says so twice on the listing. From Tokyo, the highway bus to Kawaguchiko Station and a station pickup is the workable version; the fares are on the homepage.
